First board on MDF line 2, PANEL PLUS, Thailand

Our customer Panel Plus is a major producer of wood based panels in Thailand. The company continuously makes significant investments in expansion and modernization of its plants. In end of 2015 Panel Plus contracted eastconsult with the concept design, tender preparation, support in negotiations and supplier selection, legal support and project supervision for a new Thin-MDF line on a green field in Hat Yai, Thailand. In mid of 2016 the main suppliers have been contracted and construction started in September 2016.

In January 2017 the first machinery parts arrived on site and installation began, and already on October 27, 2017 the first MDF board was produced on the line.

Dieffenbacher has supplied chipper, dryer, forming and its newest generation CPS+ press with a daily capacity of 700 m³ in a thickness range from 1,5 to 32,0 mm net in several formats for local and export markets. The full automatic Lukki storage with closed pallets ensures that the boards are stored absolutely flat so no waving occurs in the conditioning phase. The sanding line with a Steinemann 10 head sander was supplied by Anthon, as well the cut-to-size saw line.

Trasmec has supplied all conveyor systems, the IMAL´s measuring and laboratory equipment ensures efficient and accurate quality control. A Büttner biomass energy plant in combination with a Scheuch electrofilter is supplying steam, thermal oil and hot gas to the line.

The complete air handling system including a press air scrubber has been designed and delivered from Ceatec.

The plant currently is still in the test phase and ramping up to nominal capacity is ongoing. The final acceptance tests with the suppliers are planned for beginning of 2018.
